Too Much Fun!!!

For the last month KBYU has been playing a commercial advertising "The Body", an interactive adventure of the human body put on by Sesame Street at Discovery Gateway in Salt Lake. Nora saw that commercial and would not stop talking about it. She wanted to go to "the body" so bad. So, we took the girls to see it last Friday. I had never been to Discovery Gateway before nor had I heard much about it. It was incredible. There were so many cool things that I don't know where to start.

"The Body" had a replica of the real Sesame Street, including Hooper's Store and Elmo's World. There were so many different activities to learn about the human body. There were five different machines that you could manipulate. A machine with a large mouth, one with the stomach where you turn a steering wheel and it shows your stomach working. It had a heart machine where you push a handle and it pumps the heart. It had the same thing for the lungs. The nose was funny. The nose was about the size of Olivia and when you pulled on a handle it would breathe or sneeze or sniff. When it sneezed you actually got wet. Nora's favorite thing was the poop machine.

The Discovery Gateway also has an old Life flight helicopter that children can play in. They can sit in the pilot seat and push buttons. It even makes the chopper noise like they are flying. They have a speaker system where you can talk to the control tower. Nora a Brooklynn were talking back and forth. Nora would be in the helicopter and Brookie would be in the control station talking back and forth to each other. Olivia just loved climbing around the inside of the helicopter.

In the downstairs of the Gateway they have a little city. They have a grocery store, gas station, construction site, a huge river-like water fountain to play in, a farmyard and garden, and a house.

Nora and Olivia loved shopping in the grocery store. The food looked very much like the real thing. This is Olivia inside the kitchen of the little house.

This is the construction site where they have a crane and large foam blocks to build with. It is really cute because all of the kids have to work together to create something. One person has to run the crane and another loads the crane and someone builds, etc.

This was Olivia's favorite thing. She loved climbing onto the horse. As soon as she got on the horse she wanted to get off. But then she would try to climb back on again. This is probably the longest post ever written but we had so much fun and I wanted to tell everyone about it. If you ever get a chance you should go to the Discovery Gateway.
